Mission Statement

Undergraduate Student Government, the official undergraduate student government of the University of Southern California, serves as a marketplace of sorts for the university. With its many branches and divisions, its members and programs connect our student body with each other, as well as with faculty, staff, administrators, and opportunities both inside and outside the school.

We challenge ourselves this year to open our doors to students in new and creative ways, in an effort to better demonstrate our purpose and our plans for our student body and our school. To achieve these ends, we have developed three criteria to help keep our vision and projects for the school as dynamic as possible at every turn.

The first and perhaps most important of these is engagement. Are we consistently communicating with the students it is our duty to represent? On the other side of that question is an equally critical query: are students aware of our purpose and our goals? In addition to this crucial check on our work, we also look to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. To this end, we are committed to embracing new methods of collaboration, cost-cutting, and innovation, in and out of the office.

It is our hope that with these criteria, and through relevant and necessary advocacy, legislation, and programming, students will benefit from a richer undergraduate experience. Consequently, they will be better able to utilize the resources of our university, for individual and collective self-improvement and development, both during and after their college years.
