Academic Affairs
- This committee works on issues surrounding academic ethics, advising, textbooks, and other academic concerns of undergraduate students. This committee also has programs and projects dealing with the new USG Course Guide, encouraging academic excellence, and distributing relevant information on USC academic life such as research opportunities, mentoring, and other means of integrative learning.
Alumni Affairs
- Alumni Affairs seeks to connect current USC students with alumni. Through on and off campus events and putting alumni in touch with students, Alumni Affairs works to make the Trojan Family a reality.
Campus Affairs
- This committee handles such areas as safety, transportation, and health on campus. We are also the committee that is overseeing the new Campus Center and the new Health Center. Our role is to serve as student advocates in each of these vital fields.
- This committee is vital in getting the Undergraduate Student Government, along with the undergraduate student body as a whole, involved in community services. We organize activities and service events to benefit the local, area, and global community.
Diversity Affairs
- This committee is responsible for representing all minority interests on campus and serving as diversity advocates. We work to raise awareness of minority concerns, and our committee members often conduct research for advocacy proposals and organize minority awareness events.
Elections and Recruitment
- Elections and Recruitment has two main objectives: To recruit new USG members, and to plan and organize the USG elections in February. Members of this committee will help to organize election events during the first two months of the spring semester, and will manage recruitment efforts throughout the year.
University Affairs
- This committee’s objective is to make the lives of undergraduates easier by addressing issues that affect nearly every undergrad. Specific duties include issues of housing, Trojan Hospitality (ex. meal plans), and Lyon Center improvement.
Outreach
- This committee is a branch of the Communications Department within USG. It is our privilege to be the faces that represent USG to the entire undergraduate student body. Our role is to provide the student body with USG updates and important information by any creative means necessary, from face-to-face contact, creating attractive posters, print and online media, and any and all other innovative avenues the committee develops for the purpose of reaching out to the student body.
Discretionary Funding Board
- The USG Discretionary Board was established to fund programming events that are
campus wide and that do not fall under the other four funding boards. It is the board's
goal to sponsor events that are entertaining, cultural, and/or educational and cater to
the entire student body
Leadership Funding Board
- Leadership Fund Board grants funding to recognized student organizations to support
events that promote leadership development and recognition.
Philanthropy Funding Board
- The USG Philanthropy Fund seeks to sponsor “hands-on” community service events
which create a beneficial partnership between the University and the greater
community. Additionally, it is the mission of this committee to encourage student
organizations to work together to maximize philanthropic opportunities throughout
the university.
Professional Funding Board
- Professional Fund provides funding for events sponsored by campus organizations
that allow students an opportunity to engage in events that provide a chance to meet
professionals in various fields.
Academic Research Funding Board
- The USG Academic Research Fund was established to provide undergraduates with
funding to conduct research projects, attend academic conferences and pursue other
academic extracurricular activities.
